Nockamixon State Park 

Looking for some hunting opportunities or a day spent on the water? Look no further than Nockamixon’s 5,286 acres! Located less than 15 minutes from the inn, visitors enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities here, as well as environmental education and recreation! Bring your binoculars for a wildlife watch or rent one of the park’s many boating options like sailboats and catamarans. 

Peace Valley Nature Center

Peace Valley Nature Center is a wildlife preserve that’s located at the northeast end of Lake Galena. Take leisurely strolls and hikes along the over 15 miles of trails. There are guided walks offered year-round as well as morning bird walks, community events, a summer camp, and field trips for schools. Families, couples, and individuals wanting to visit on their own are sure to enjoy this beautiful location.

While visiting Peace Valley Park and Lake Galena, spend time on the water with one of the many boat rental options! Rentals are available by the hour, half day, or full day and include rowboats, canoes, kayaks (for one or two), and paddle boats. 

Washington Crossing Historic Park

Located just 30 minutes from the inn, this park is not just a green space – it features a great deal of history and other educational opportunities. There are more than 500 acres which include the Hibbs House Kitchen Garden, Bowman’s Hill Tower, a historic village, and soldiers’ graves. You can watch a reenactment of George Washington’s 1776 Christmas night river crossing at the banks of the Delaware River.

Ralph Stover State Park 

Located in Eastern Bucks County, just a short 8-minute drive from the Inn, Ralph Stover has 45 acres of stunning scenery overlooking the Tohickon Creek. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and is full of opportunities for casual strolls and more advanced hiking adventures. High Rocks scenic vista is a popular destination for experienced rock climbers, but anyone can enjoy the breathtaking views of the horseshoe section of the Tohickon Creek! 

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve

Located close by in New Hope, PA, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve offers many acres of beautiful gardens. Enjoy wildflowers, ferns, shrubs, and other plant life native to the area as you explore the easy walking trails. Depending on the time of year, different varieties of plants and flowers will be in bloom! You can even take home a beautiful plant from the gift shop! 

 

Ringing Rocks Park 

This Bucks County park gets its name from an 8-acre boulder field consisting of primordial boulders. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own hammers to strike the boulders and hear them ring. This park also boasts Bucks County’s largest waterfall, making it a must-see destination in the area! 

 

Delaware Canal State Park

This state park boasts a trail that runs for 59 miles from Bristol to Easton, PA, but there are plenty of access points near our quaint bed and breakfast near New Hope, PA. The park features a 50-acre pond, miles of river shoreline, and a collection of river islands to explore. You can also enjoy a range of historical education programs, guided walks, and more!
